I love this city! It is a charming, crazy, and packed city but yet it feels open, clean and has a small town charm to it (Anyone else feel that?). My friend and I walked through the whole city, probably 13-14 miles, and covered most, if not all, of the coast. Places we went to (and you should go to!) and lots and lots of pictures are below!
Places we went to:
- Fishermen’s Wharf
- The piers
- Ferry Building and the farmers market
- Korea Town
- “Full House” House
- Ghirardelli Factory aka Chocolate Heaven – where I was mistaken for the late Brittany Murphey
- Golden Gate Bridge
- A bunch of parks – which we took a nap overlooking the water
- A bunch of places by the water
- Science Museum
Best part: The walk. It was exciting to not really plan but walk the whole city and see it for what it is. There was so much street art and modern art along our whole walk. We would stand there and figure out the meaning behind it or take goofy pictures. The pier was great when we caught a glimpse of every day fishing occurring. It was like we had stepped, for a moment, into the day of a fishermen’s life. Very normal but picturesque. It also great to walk and see the differences in neighborhoods.
After snacking all day on chocolate, ice cream, and coffee(?), we finally got food in Korea town. We were so hungry! Our food, at first, seemed like it was moving because of the steam and the difference in temperature which caused us to be antsy for the first 2 minutes. Then we gave up and digged in. We got sushi and a noodle dish. Both were amazing and it was the perfect way to end our fun filled but long adventure of a day.
So many pictures, enjoy!
