I had a jam packed Saturday walking through the streets of NYC. Highlighted below are Soho and Gramercy. The architecture alone should make you want to walk down these streets. I took a couple pictures of some of the buildings down there.
While you’re down there, you should check out these spots:
- Washington Square Park
- Beautiful park near NYU, in has a huge arch with a massive fountain. There are tons of street performers here; this day there was a pianist with his grand piano in the center. In the summer, there are lots of pigeons, cascades of water from the water fountain and some kids (and adults) jumping in.
- Prodigy Coffee
- There is twinkly lights, antique mirrors, quaint shelving and stools, and a fancy chandelier. For a tiny place, this coffee shop packs a punch. I sat here with friends for a couple friends chatting in the warmth of the espresso brewing shop.
- Big Gay Ice Cream
- What a hit in the city! And I know why; they have amazing concoctions and just so much ice cream with fudge and caramel and sprinkles and toppings and more of everything! It. Is. An. Overload. The one we got (featured below) has a vanilla ice cream cone with chocolate dipped pretzels all dipped in chocolate fudge….yes. Go.
- Rice to Riches
- Did you know there is a place that sells rice pudding…in a bajillion different flavors? It’s like an ice cream store or a froyo place but nope it’s a shop that sells lots of variations of rice pudding. While I was there, I saw flavors consisting of mascarpone, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream, etc. I chose the Chocolate Hazelnut rice pudding (featured below).
Have you been to any of these spots? What are your go to places in NYC?

That looks so yummy! I’ve never heard of rice pudding in different flavors.
