This weekend was very chilly but my friend was in town so we tried a bunch of new eats (and drinks) and went to the MET! Day details, places to try and pictures below!
SoHo started off Saturday where we went to Happy Bones for some strong coffee. It was strong but it had a bitter sweet after taste. I like my espresso simply bitter so it was different. When my drink became cold, my friend still enjoyed sipping every last bit.

For brunch, we headed to this cool wooden restaurant, Brinkley’s on Broome Street. I opted for the Eggplant and Chickpea burger while my friend got the beef burger with massive amounts of sweet potato fries. My burger needed more tahini sauce in there and her burger might have been more done than she asked. However, food was delicious and atmosphere was really nice to catch up and talk.

By this point, it was freezing, so we headed to City Bakery. We got toasted hot chocolates. SO GOOD. SO RICH. (beware) They had so many people packed in there but we found a table to rest our drinks. There was a jazz band also performing which give a cool vibe to the day. With the twinkly lights and the jazz music, it felt like we were at a classy club and it was a lot later than the middle of the afternoon.
Finally, we ran over to Union Square where we spent a couple hours in Strand. I love love love that place! We got some great finds; I finally narrowed it down to an Agatha Christie book.

We ended the night with Indian at Mughlai’s. I’ve already been there before and love it. Food is authentic and sauce is on point. However, our meat was not so tender.

The next day we made our way to Two Little Red Hens for coffee, although we wanted pastries. They have so many cupcakes, cakes, scones, biscuits, etc and they keep coming out fresh!

We also went to Tal’s Bagels for some amazing toasty-ness. It was splendid…up until we could no longer feel our fingers. 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Ouch.
We concluded this weekend by hanging at the MET and loving life. There’s a lot of cool new exhibits out this month!

Our sweet ending was getting macaroons at La Maison du Chocolat. The House of Chocolate. It was wonderful and I wish I had more…
